Important Use Limitations
DMAC Structural Wind CFD is educational, analytical, screening and decision-support software. It is not a substitute for services performed by a licensed/chartered professional engineer, qualified wind engineer, CFD specialist, architect, code official, testing laboratory, wind-tunnel laboratory, or other competent professional.
Outputs may be simplified, approximate, incomplete, sensitive to user inputs, or unsuitable for a particular structure, site, jurisdiction, load path, material system, construction stage, wind climate, aerodynamic instability, cladding system, fatigue assessment, serviceability criterion, or code requirement. No output is a sealed/stamped design, certification, safety determination, code-compliance determination, or recommendation to construct.
Users are solely responsible for independently verifying input data, units, sign conventions, terrain/exposure, wind climate, governing codes and amendments, load combinations, boundary conditions, turbulence modeling, numerical convergence, mesh/time-step independence, validation data, wind-tunnel requirements, structural models, damping assumptions, dynamic/aeroelastic effects, fatigue, component and cladding behavior, and all final design decisions.
Do not use this software as the sole basis for life-safety decisions, emergency actions, permitting, construction documents, fabrication, erection, retrofit, occupancy, or operation of a structure. High-consequence, unusual, flexible, tall, long-span, slender, aeroelastic, temporary, offshore, bridge, stadium, façade, rooftop, or otherwise wind-sensitive structures may require project-specific specialist studies and physical testing.
The case-study library contains fictionalized educational scenarios grounded in real geographic locations and common structural typologies. It does not represent factual engineering records of named projects and must not be treated as site-specific evidence.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided “as is” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, code compliance, availability, or professional suitability. Users assume responsibility for their use of the software and for obtaining appropriate professional review.
If a software output conflicts with governing law, adopted codes, project specifications, validated test data, a qualified professional’s judgment, or the authority having jurisdiction, the governing requirement and competent professional review control.
