How to Use DMAC Structural Wind CFD

Use this workflow whether you are learning, screening a design concept, translating external CFD data, or organizing an engineering review.

1. 🔐 Create an account or sign in.

   Your projects are kept under your account. Use Forgot Password if you need a reset.

2. 📊 Start at the Dashboard.

   Choose the analysis module that matches your question. Every input can be changed before you run a calculation.

3. 🛡️ Validate before trusting CFD.

   If your project uses CFD results, start with the CFD Validation Guardian. Complete its mesh, domain, turbulence, convergence and sampling checks.

4. 📥 Import pressure data when available.

   Use CSV Pressure Lab for external CFD surface pressures. At minimum provide pressure and area; add surface normals, x/y/z coordinates, story and load-case labels to calculate vector forces, moments/torsion and story-by-story structural load summaries.

5. 📚 Learn from the case library.

   Filter by USA or EU/Global, category, and difficulty. View a case without changing it, or select Save As to create your own editable copy.

6. 🧰 Keep work in Project Workshop.

   Edit project notes, JSON inputs and reviewed results. Export a project to JSON when you need a portable record.

7. 🧠 Use the Navier–Stokes page.

   The primer explains how inertia, pressure, viscosity and continuity connect wind flow to structural loading.

8. ⚖️ Apply professional engineering judgment.

   These tools are screening, learning and decision-support aids. Verify governing codes, wind climate, wind-tunnel needs, CFD setup and structural design independently.
